Billiard Cloth
The billiard cloth is very important for playing billiards. There is a particular material of this felt specially manufactured for billiards table. This is available in traditional green color and some other colors such as orange, lime, red, pink and black. Due to constant playing the billiard cloth may wear out. In that case, this will hamper the flow of the game and so you have to change the cloth to facilitate playing.
The billiard cloth replacement should be handled with care. You have to see which felt to use on your pool table and then should see where to buy it. In some shops, if you order your billiard cloth, they will install the cloth themselves for an additional charge. It is always advisable to put the cloth with the help of trained person. But the cost of installation is around two hundred dollars but the work will be very neat and the table would look like brand new one. But in case, you think that you can do the work yourself, you can try your hands at replacing the billiard cloth.
If you are confident about your ability, you can try to place the cloth yourself. If you have wooden frame work, you can remove the rails on the pool table and you have to stretch the billiard cloth lengthwise and spread the cloth across the table. After that you have to start stapling one side of it so that you can get some grip over it. It is good to start from the middle portion and you may start stapling the billiard cloth from there. Only if you staple the cloth, you can keep the cloth in place. Be sure to hold the cloth tight so that you will get the smoothest possible surface.
If your table is made of slate, then alternatively you can stick the billiard cloth to the table. You have to get best glue for the purpose. You have to get them from near hardware store. You have to apply the glue all over the surface and wait for some times so that it will dry slightly. Then you can spread the cloth and this will stick to the table. You have to press it well and iron on any wrinkles pulling the billiard cloth at one side. The billiard cloth is available in various lengths in the market. You have to get the right length for your table.
