Gas Bbq Smokers
Bbq smokers give an unique taste to meat and fish. Barbequing is also a fun variation from a family dinner or dining out.
There are various gas bbq smokers to fit the different types of grilling needs. Each of these different varieties of gas smokers are fit for a specific style of cooking.
Different fuel can be used on gas smokers. The types of fuel that can be used are propane and natural gas. Propane gas is also known as LP for liquid propane. Liquid propane gas smokers are very popular due to its ease of use. Propane gas comes in cylinders and is portable. A light propane gas cylinder lasts for hours. Therefore gas smokers are useful for outdoor bbq. However they are expensive to use frequently.
When natural gas is used for gas bbq smokers a preinstalled natural gas pipe has to be plugged into the gas burner. Therefore natural gas burners are limited to in-house use. The main benefit of this type of smokers is the low cost. Natural gas grills usually cost more than propane gas grills. However the cost of gas in the long run is much less. Natural gas smokers also give a special taste that cannot be achieved with the propane gas smokers.
Types of gas bbq smokers that are available include infrared gas grills, outdoor gas grills and indoor gas grills. Both liquid propane gas and natural gas can be used on infrared gas grills. These gas smokers cook the food through the thermal radiation from burning the metal grate instead of using the heat from burning the gas. Due to the technique used by these gas smokers the cooking is instant.
Outdoor gas bbq smokers can also use both types of fuel. Outdoor gas grills are usually large with features that make the cooking process easy. They also allow monitoring of the process.
Indoor gas grills are portable. They are the most inexpensive type of gas smokers. However since they are small they do not have the cooking power to cook large bbqs like full size chicken or seafood dishes.
Gas smokers are easy to use as electric smokers but are less expensive in comparison. It is also easier to control the temperature of gas bbq smokers unlike charcoal or wood fueled smokers. Another benefit is that they can operate without access to electricity making them suitable for outdoor bbqs. However keeping spare tanks of propane gas may be necessary as gas can run out. Empty gas cylinders can be switched to new ones easily at gas stations or convenience stores. There is however a safety issue with gas bbq smokers due to its open flame. Kids and pets should be kept away from gas bbq smokers to avoid accidents.
In comparison with other types of bbq smokers, gas bbq smokers have a clear advantage due to its ease of use.
