Bathroom Vanity Mirror
A bathroom vanity mirror is often one of the final touches that you will put into your bathroom. However, it is one of the first things that you will need to plan for. When you are selecting your vanity and your lighting, you will need to remember your mirror and leave enough space between the lighting fixture and the vanity itself for your mirror. It is not uncommon for the bathroom vanity mirror to be built into the lighting fixture. However, it is a high possibility that you will choose to select a fixture that is independent of the bathroom vanity mirror.
There are a few things that you will want to keep in mind when selecting your bathroom vanity mirror. First, you will want to make certain that people of most heights can access the mirror. Because of this, you will want the mirror to begin just above the top of the faucet. This will ensure that shorter individuals can usually see themselves in the mirror. You will also want the bathroom vanity mirror to be high enough that taller people can use the mirror without having to stoop. This often requires a larger mirror, which can be more expensive.
Once you have identified how large you want your bathroom vanity mirror, you will need to determine whether or not it will be a part of a medicine cabinet or if it will be just the mirror. Medicine cabinets with mirrors tend to be common, as they allow you to store many things behind the mirror for easy access. As many of these mirrors are just out of the reach of children, many dangerous items can be safely kept within on the upper shelves of the cabinet. However, a bathroom vanity mirror that is a part of a medicine cabinet often lacks the appeal of a standalone mirror. You will need to decide between functionality and appearance in this case.
The most challenging part of selecting a bathroom vanity mirror is balancing the elegance of the mirror to the level of elegance your vanity has. If your vanity is simple wood with little design work to it, you will want to match the mirror to the vanity. In this case, it would mean that you would want to use a mirror that is rather simple and lacking in a great deal of design. You will want to match the frame of the mirror to your vanity, and leave out the extra trim so that your mirror does not look out of place.
You can purchase a bathroom vanity mirror online or through a local retailer.
